Mortgage Bankers Association 2023 Chairman Matt Rocco has made a career move.

Colliers Mortgage, the debt financing arm of Colliers U.S., hired Rocco as its new President. He will work with the Colliers Mortgage team to further build its business across the country and secure additional licenses and lenders.

In addition to serving as MBA 2023 Chairman, Rocco is a member of MBA’s Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Board of Governors, Residential/Single-Family Board of Governors and Origination Council.

“One guarantee in our industry is that there is always change,” Rocco said in a letter to MBA members. “I am happy to share with you a change of my own. After nearly 25 years at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, I have moved on and will now serve as President of Colliers Mortgage, leading the team to build its business presence across the country.”

Rocco said he is honored to continue to serve as 2023 MBA Chairman. “My commitment to you and our industry has not changed,” he said in the letter. “There is a lot of work to do together, and I look forward to addressing the challenges and opportunities ahead to improve your business outcomes and help the renters, homeowners and homebuyers in the communities we serve.”

Colliers Mortgage CEO David Juran called the move a unique opportunity for his firm to bring on a seasoned senior executive that will help grow the company. Rocco will work from Charlotte, N.C.
Rocco graduated from the University of Alabama and worked in investment banking, bond issuance, underwriting and real estate asset management. He joined Charlotte-based Grandbridge in 1998.

Colliers Mortgage also hired Joe Lovell as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Lovell has more than 28 years of experience in commercial real estate financing and has been responsible for servicing and operational areas including asset management, operations, business systems/IT, third-party loan closing and corporate initiatives during his career.
