The Week Ahead, Aug. 29, 2022: Six Things to Know

Good morning and happy Monday! Here’s what’s happening over the next several days:

First, Labor Day. Can you believe summer is almost over already? Labor Day is next Monday, Sept. 5. Offices of the Mortgage Bankers Association will be closed that day and MBA NewsLink will not publish. On behalf of MBA officers and staff, have a safe and happy holiday.

Third, MBA Reports. MBA releases its Weekly Applications Survey this Wednesday, Aug. 31, with commentary and analysis from MBA Associate Vice President of Economic and Industry Forecasting Joel Kan.

Fourth, Other Economic Reports. Another busy week for economic/housing reports, with the last of August housing data and four major employment reports, including the August jobs report on Friday. MBA Chief Economist Mike Fratantoni will provide commentary and analysis of Friday’s report in the Tuesday, Sept. 6 edition of MBA NewsLink.
