MORPAC Honors Paul Walnick with the 2021 Schumacher-Bolduc Award
The Mortgage Bankers Association Political Action Committee awarded Paul Walnick, President of Business Development with Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp., Madison, Wis., with the 2021 Schumacher-Bolduc Award.
The award recognizes Walnick for his extraordinary work on behalf of MBA’s political advocacy programs and the real estate finance industry.
“Throughout his illustrious career, Paul has been a MORPAC champion and continues to be a leader at furthering our advocacy efforts,” said Kristy Fercho, MBA Chairman and Executive Vice President and Head of Home Lending with Wells Fargo. “Paul’s success is unmatched within the industry and on Capitol Hill, and he deserves this honor.”
Since joining Fairway, Walnick has been a passionate advocate for MORPAC and its mission. Earlier this year, he led Fairway’s first MORPAC campaign, which raised more than $185,000. Additionally, he encouraged Fairway employees to respond with more 8,000 Mortgage Action Alliance Calls to Action, which has led to the highest participation rate of any MBA member company.
Walnick oversees business development at Fairway. Prior to joining Fairway, he had extensive mortgage experience, including a district management position, as a loan officer and in regional and branch management positions.
MORPAC is the voluntary, non-partisan Political Action Committee for the Mortgage Bankers Association. The PAC represents the interests of the real estate finance industry. The Schumacher-Bolduc Award is named after MORPAC founder Ernest P. Shumacher and Mark P. Bolduc, one of MORPAC’s first Directors.
