Good morning! The Mortgage Bankers Association’s National Advocacy Conference kicks off in a little more than 24 hours.

Offered through MBA LIVE, NAC is the largest advocacy event of the year focused solely on the issues facing you and the real estate finance industry. The virtual format gives you access to a range of information and priorities, and will facilitate MBA members and lawmakers conversing “face-to-face” online from your home or office.

MBA releases its weekly Forbearance & Call Volume Survey this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. ET; and its Weekly Applications Survey on Wednesday, May 5 (7:00 a.m. ET). Additionally, during the National Advocacy Conference, MBA will announce the recipient of the Burton C. Wood Legislative Service Award. Also this week, look for a special announcement from the MBA Opens Doors Foundation.

On Capitol Hill this week, the Senate Banking Committee holds a hearing to consider the Biden Administration’s nomination of Adrianne Todman as HUD Deputy Secretary and Nuria Fernandez as Federal Transit Administrator. The remote hearing takes place on Tuesday, May 11 at 10:00 a.m. and can be accessed here.
