Maxwell Adds Sadie Gurley as VP
Maxwell, Denver, hired Sadie Gurley as Vice President, responsible for helping the company find new opportunities and expand its impact on community lenders across the country.
Gurley has more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry, most specifically in due diligence and quality control services. She comes to Maxwell from Digital Risk, where she headed up diligence services. Previously, she served as VP of Mortgage Bond Trading at Goldman Sachs for more than 10 years.
Matt Jones Joins Amerifirst Home Mortgage
Amerifirst Home Mortgage, Kalamazoo, Mich., announced Matt Jones joined the company as Senior Advisor – Capital Markets. He will advise on capital markets strategy and execution and lead the company’s government affairs efforts.
Before joining Amerifirst, Jones served as Senior Counsel to the Senate Finance Committee and previously as Senior Counsel to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, Washington, D.C. Prior to his service in the Senate, he worked in residential policy for the Mortgage Bankers Association. He was recently named a HousingWire Rising Star and is the featured cover story in the June issue of HousingWire magazine.

Amy Huchthausen, Chief Impact and Culture Officer, is stepping down from her role as Commissioner of the NCAA’s America East Conference. She is also co-founder of the Asian American & Pacific Islander Athletics Alliance (AAPI) and serves as a judge for MassChallenge..
Kara Banosian, Chief Marketing Officer, joins Stavvy after holding several roles at LogMeIn, most recently serving as Vice President, Acquisition Marketing, where she led global campaign development and international marketing, and drove lead acquisition strategy and pipeline through strong partnership with sales.
Beth Lehman, Head of Compliance and Consumer Protection, Corporate Counsel, has held a number of key legal and compliance positions, including as Chief Compliance Officer and Counsel at Fiduciary Trust International, and as advisor to KPMG Advisory, Navigant Consulting, and State Street Global Advisors. She previously served as Senior Counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Patrick Bausemer, Head of Digital Strategy, joins the Stavvy team after nearly a decade at Rapid7, where he was a key contributor on Rapid7’s journey to nearly half a billion dollars. He most recently led a team at Rapid7 responsible for Growth Marketing, where he oversaw the online marketing strategy to drive digital traffic and leads.
Kyle Stephenson, Head of Solutions and Partnerships, and Mark Witte, Head of Growth, both previously served on the leadership team of NotaryCam, an earlier pioneer in remote online notarization, and bring with them experience in delivering innovative SaaS solutions to the market.
AXIS Lending Academy Appoints Sue Woodard, Kevin Peranio, Brian Vieaux to Board
AXIS Lending Academy, San Francisco, appointed Kevin Peranio, Brian Vieaux and Sue Woodard to its Board of Directors. AXIS announced its formal launch of operations last month.
Woodard is chief customer officer at Total Expert, a CRM and customer engagement platform built specifically for the financial services industry. A former top producing originator and winner of multiple industry awards, she began her mortgage career more than 30 years ago and is frequently called on as an industry speaker and subject matter expert.
Peranio is chief lending officer for PRMG, one of the nation’s largest mortgage lenders, where he oversees all loan production. His two-decade mortgage career includes leadership roles at North Star Lending and First Magnus Financial. Before that, Peranio spent two years at Dell Computer.
Vieaux is president and COO of FinLocker, a provider of digital, consumer-permissioned personal financial assistance tools. He has three decades of home lending experience and has held leadership roles at Citigroup, Flagstar and IndyMac Bank.
Institutional Property Advisors Adds Kent Myers in Austin
Institutional Property Advisors appointed Kent Myers as a director in Austin, Texas, responsible for multifamily investment property transactions on behalf of institutional and major private clients in partnership with IPA’s Texas-based team.
Myers has 15 years of Texas-based commercial real estate experience. Since 2006, he has closed sale of 17,500 units throughout Texas and participated in note sales and distressed debt workout opportunities. Myers began his career with Marcus & Millichap in 2008 and was promoted to senior vice president investments in 2018.
Planet Home Lending Names Caleb Mittelstet, AMP, as EVP of National Production, Distributed Retail Sales
Planet Home Lending LLC, Meredin, Conn., hired Caleb Mittelstet, AMP, as Executive Vice President of National Production and Distributed Retail Sales.
Mittelstet has more than two decades of expertise leading and growing distributed retail channels. Before joining Planet Home Lending, he was executive vice president of sales at Summit Funding Inc. During his career, he also held retail leadership positions at Pacific Union Financial LLC, CMG Financial and PrimeLending. He holds the Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation from the Mortgage Bankers Association.
