MISMO Seeks Public Comment on Two Engineering Guidelines

MISMO®, the real estate finance industry standards organization, seeks public comment on MISMO Engineering Guidelines (MEG) 16 and 42. The 30-day public comment period for these guidelines runs through December 30.
The MISMO MEGs ensure that MISMO work products adhere to all applicable technology standards, are produced in a consistent fashion, and meet the needs of the mortgage industry.
MEG 16 provides a detailed definition of the contents of the MISMO Logical Data Dictionary, which provide a business-friendly format for the terms, definitions, and relationships in the MISMO Reference Model. It also codifies the process for submission of any new LDD content through the MISMO Information Management workgroup.
MEG 42 recommends that all MISMO Version 3 documents use PDF as the single format for views to ensure industry-wide document interoperability. The MISMO Version 3 SMART Doc® PDF implementation guide provides details on use and implementation of these views.
These public comment periods allow those who participated on the proposals at least 30 days notice prior to final release to review and disclose any applicable Patent Rights (as defined by MISMO’s 2018 Intellectual Property Rights Policy).
MISMO requests that any non-participant organization that may have any patent or patent applications, or other intellectual property rights that might be infringed upon by an organization that uses or is compliant with these proposed MISMO products, to disclose them at this time in writing.
