MBA Honors Jim Deitch, CMB, with Woodward Distinguished Service Award

The Mortgage Bankers Association honored Jim Deitch, CMB, co-founder and CEO of Teraverde, with its Andrew D. Woodward Distinguished Service Award.

The award is presented in recognition of dedication and prominent service to MBA and the mortgage lending industry in a variety of capacities involving both legislative and regulatory activities. Deitch was presented the award in a ceremony held during MBA’s virtual 2020 Annual Convention & Expo. 

“Jim deserves to be recognized for his commitment to advancing the regulatory and legislative priorities that have made an impactful change for MBA members, consumers, and the mortgage industry,” said Susan Stewart, 2021 MBA Chair and CEO of SWBC Mortgage Corp. “Jim has been an advocate for many years, and I am honored to present him with this year’s Andrew D. Woodward Distinguished Service Award.”

Deitch has more than 25 years as an executive-level officer in the mortgage banking industry. Previously, he was a co-founder, CEO and Director of the American Home Bank division of First National Bank of Chester County. Under his leadership, American Home Bank was named one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States by Inc. Magazine, and a top 50 national residential lender by American Banker and National Mortgage News. Deitch has served on the board of publicly traded and privately held banks and non-bank companies. He is a frequent industry speaker and best-selling author.

The Woodward Distinguished Service Award is the highest honor an individual can receive from his or her fellow MBA members. Nominees for the annual award must meet the following criteria:

–Be associated with an MBA member firm;

–Compile a record of long, sustained, and extraordinary service to MBA and the mortgage industry; and

–Have a strong reputation for ethical and professional conduct.
