In March, the Mortgage Bankers Association and the Tennessee Housing Development Agency launched “Convergence Memphis,” a multi-year initiative focused on promoting minority homeownership in Memphis. This collaborative effort involves state and local government, the non-profit sector, and the housing industry. The goal is to leverage the strengths and resources of the different local and national partners, and in a coordinated way test new approaches for advancing minority homeownership. MBA believes that the lessons learned in Memphis can help us create new roadmaps for community engagement around minority homeownership.
