The Week Ahead—Nov. 16, 2020

Good morning and happy Monday! It’s that “in-between period” here in Washington—in-between holidays (Veterans Day and Thanksgiving), in-between autumn and winter; and in-between Administrations (we think).

It’s hard to say what is going to happen between now and Jan. 21, when presumptive President-Elect Joseph Biden Jr. takes office and the 117th Congress convenes. There could be another economic stimulus package; there could be a peaceful transition of power; there could be signs of pigs flying.

One way to get additional insight is to sign up for the MBA Mortgage Action Alliance Post-Election Update, taking place Thursday, Nov. 19 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. ET. The update provides MAA members (and prospective MAA members) with a briefing on election results to date and the anticipated impacts on the industry.

The MBA Legislative & Political Affairs team will do a deep dive on the 2020 election results and discuss the possible legislative and regulatory policy implications of the known outcomes. The webinar will emphasize the importance of continued employee engagement in MBA Advocacy programs and initiatives.

And the MBA Weekly Applications Survey comes out this Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7:00 a.m. ET; MBA NewsLink will have the report and analysis ready for you when you turn on your computer Wednesday morning.
