MBA Opens Doors Foundation’s Deborah Dubois Presented with Alyse Childers-Wiley Memorial Award by CMG Financial
Deborah Dubois, President of MBA Opens Doors Foundation, was presented with the Alyse Childers-Wiley Memorial Award by CMG Financial at the CMG Foundation’s 9th Annual Wine Tasting and Auction on July 15 in San Francisco.
The Alyse Childers-Wiley Memorial Award recognizes exceptional industry professionals who strive to make a positive impact and inspire others.
Dubois was honored with this year’s award at the CMG Foundation fundraiser event by Chris George, 2019 MBA Chairman and Founder, President and CEO of CMG Financial, and member of the Opens Doors Board of Directors, for her leadership, commitment and success as president of the Opens Doors Foundation.
“The Alyse Childers-Wiley Memorial Award is a chance for our organization to not only honor the memory of our incredible Alyse, but it’s also to recognize members of our community for their service,” George said. “Deborah Dubois’ selfless commitment to MBA Opens Doors Foundation has allowed thousands of families to focus on their child’s treatment without being overcome with the stress of paying their mortgage or rent payment.”
The annual award is named after the late Alyse Childers-Wiley, a dedicated CMG Financial employee whose strength, commitment and generosity made the world a better place. Childers-Wiley tragically lost a long nine-year battle to cancer in 2017.
“It’s humbling to receive an award steeped in the meaning and essence of the Alyse Childers-Wiley Memorial Award,” Dubois said. “She was a warrior, driven to make the world a better place, and that’s something to which I will always aspire. I’m honored by the recognition, especially coming from a company like CMG, which lives and breathes the value of working hard and giving back. Families across the country have my commitment, and I will continue to do all that I can to help them in their time of need.”
Opens Doors provides mortgage and rental assistance to families with critically ill or injured children, allowing parents and guardians to be by a child’s side during treatment, without fear of jeopardizing their home.
Since 2012, the Foundation has helped nearly 4,000 families from 49 states, distributing more than $5.1 million in funding. Support from MBA allows the Foundation to pass on 100 percent of donations to families in need of assistance. Potential grant recipients are identified through the Foundation’s ongoing relationship with children’s hospitals in Akron, Ohio; Boston, Massachusetts; Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Houston, Texas; Northern and Southern California; and Washington, D.C.
