The MBA Opens Doors Foundation announced two new members joined its Board of Directors: Robert D. (Bob) Broeksmit, CMB, President and CEO of MBA; and Jean Bradley, Vice President of Strategic Business Development with Essent Guaranty, Radnor, Pa.

BobBroeksmit“Bob and Jean are invaluable additions to our Board,” said Debra W. Still, CMB, President and CEO of Pulte Mortgage, Englewood, Colo., and Opens Doors Foundation Chairman. “Both bring not only diverse and powerful connections within the industry, but an infusion of new energy to aid our Foundation’s continued growth. I am thrilled to have them join our team.”

“Having been an MBA member in my previous position, I’ve seen the impact Opens Doors has on families who rent and own the homes we finance,” Broeksmit said. “I am honored to join a Board so committed to families in our communities, and I look forward to helping the Foundation grow.”

“I am honored to be part of Opens Doors mission as this is a wonderful opportunity to provide meaningful assistance. It is humbling to be part of such a JeanBradleyterrific cause and I look forward to making Opens Doors available to more families in need,” Bradley said.

The Opens Doors Foundation provides rental and mortgage payment assistance to families with critically ill or injured children, allowing parents and guardians to be by a child’s side during treatment, without fear of jeopardizing their home.

MBA CEO Emeritus David H. Stevens, CMB, a founder of Opens Doors, retired from the Board in August. “In addition to welcoming our new Board colleagues, we bid farewell to Dave, whose leadership was essential to the founding and growth of Opens Doors. We are grateful that Mary Stevens will continue to serve on the Board and look forward to Dave’s counsel in a less formal role,” Still said.

Broeksmit is a senior finance executive and corporate officer with a 33-year career in the mortgage sector. He has directed all aspects of lending activities, including marketing, sales, operations, secondary marketing, loan servicing and default management. He became President and CEO of MBA in August.

Bradley joined Essent in September 2015 in a leadership role responsible for Client Strategy and Business Development. Jean is a mortgage insurance and mortgage industry veteran with in excess of 25 years of wide-ranging experience in the areas of sales leadership and relationship development.

The Foundation has made more than 2,400 grant awards to families from 41 states since 2012. Through the generosity of MBA, which pays all the operational expenses of the Foundation, Opens Doors is able to pass on 100 percent of donations received to families in need. Potential recipients of the grants are identified through the Foundation’s ongoing relationship with nine children’s hospitals in Washington, D.C.; Boston; Dallas-Fort Worth; Houston; Denver; Northern and Southern California; and Akron, Ohio.
