MBA: What is the most important issue facing your company right now?

SCOTT SLIFER: The most important issue facing our company right now is supporting mortgage lenders in their quest to operate more efficiently, make investments in the right technology, and improve the overall customer experience. To operate more efficiently, Sutherland helps mortgage companies make sure they’re leveraging their teams correctly to close loans as quickly as possible. We achieve this by keeping loans in motion 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In terms of leveraging the right technology, we help lenders with tech investments and emphasize the benefits of robotic process automation. Mortgage companies have seen a 40-60% improvement in productivity resulting from RPA, and we are helping lead the charge for the industry. Finally, we help our clients improve their customer experience. Through leveraging our labs solutions, Sutherland helps mortgage companies improve their customer journey and drive efficiency for their organizations.

MBA: What are some key trends your company is tracking?

SLIFER: Key trends that Sutherland is tracking include leveraging digital in the mortgage process, loan origination and conversion metrics, and more.

MBA: Why did your company join the Mortgage Bankers Association?

Staying in tune with the Mortgage Bankers Association has allowed Sutherland to keep our finger on the pulse of the industry and more deeply understand the challenges facing mortgage companies.
