MBA Offices Open Wednesday

The Mortgage Bankers Association will be open this Wednesday, Dec. 5, despite the federal government closing for former President George H.W. Bush’s funeral.

While MBA generally follows federal government decisions to remain open, those decisions are usually based on inclement weather.

MBA offices will remain open on Wednesday; MBA NewsLink will publish as usual. The Senate Banking Committee and House Financial Services Committee have postponed hearings scheduled for Wednesday, including the previously delayed hearing on GSE pilot programs (Senate) and FHA Commissioner Brian Montgomery’s hearing on the FHA Mutual Mortgage Insurance Fund (House). However, a Dec. 6 House Financial Services Committee hearing on sustainable housing in which MBA President and CEO Robert Broeksmit, CMB, is slated to testify is still on schedule as of press time.
