Nonbank Mortgage Employment Dips Despite Improving Housing Market

Nondepository mortgage lenders and brokers trimmed their payrolls by 500 employees in July, bringing total employment in the sector to 340,800, from 341,300 in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.
