MBA Presents Griffith Straw, Master CMB, with Rosser Lifetime Achievement Award
DENVER–The Mortgage Bankers Association presented Griffith (Griff) Straw, Master CMB, with its E. Michael Rosser, CMB, MBA Education Lifetime Achievement Award.
“Griff’s commitment and efforts have resulted in numerous mortgage professionals receiving training, insight and development regarding the workings of our industry, including me as I took his class back in the mid-90s” said MBA Chairman Dave Motley, CMB. “He has put thousands of hours of his personal time into improving the quality of our industry’s workforce, and this award reflects his efforts.”
Straw is a former chairman of the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) Society, serving in both 2008 and 2009. He currently manages a consulting practice, Griff Straw, CMB, LLC specializing in mortgage lending issues and opportunities.
Prior to semi-retirement in 2011, he was Vice President of Industry Relations for United Guaranty. Prior to joining United Guaranty in 2002, he was responsible for strategic opportunities for Freddie Mac in its Business and Product Development groups, where he was recognized by Mortgage Technology magazine as one of 1998’s top seven mortgage “technologists.”
Straw earned his Master CMB designation in 2000 and was inducted as a CMB Fellow recognizing his support of the CMB society. He served as 2013 Advisor for MBA Education’s Future Leaders class of 2013.
The E. Michael Rosser MBA Education Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has shown outstanding service to MBA, the Certified Mortgage Bankers Society and the real estate finance industry.
