MBA’s Kan in HUD Homeownership Event June 1

MBA Associate Vice President of Industry Surveys and Forecasts Joel Kan participates this week in a panel discussion during a HUD-sponsored event, A New Era of Homeownership: Finding Your Place.  

The event, taking place this Thursday, June 1, launches National Homeownership Month, HUD Secretary Ben Carson, Kan and other industry analysts will discuss the history and the outlook of this central foundation of ‘The American Dream.”

Researchers and housing professionals will discuss the recent housing crisis and its impact on consumer behavior with a focus on the challenges millennial purchasers face as they enter the market in greater numbers.  

Other speakers/panelists include: Matt Ammon, HUD General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy Development and Research; Kevin Kane, HUD Chief Market Analyst, Policy Development and Research; Christie Peale, Executive Director of the Center for NYC Neighborhoods; Jon Spader, Senior Research Associate with the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University; and Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist with the National Association of Realtors.
