Bank Unloads Mortgage Business

On Tuesday, New York Community Bancorp disclosed an agreement to sell the mortgage banking business, which it inherited through AmTrust. The buyer in the transaction, Freedom Mortgage Corp., will pick up both the origination and servicing platforms.
