mPower: MBA COO Marcia Davies & NAMMBA Founder Tony Thompson, CMB

The Mortgage Bankers Association released a new video featuring MBA Chief Operating Officer Marcia Davies and National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America founder Tony Thompson, CMB, who discuss the upcoming NAMMBA Connect conference in April.

Davies, founder of mPower–MBA Promoting Opportunities for Women to Extend their Reach, for women in the real estate finance industry; and Thompson, founder of NAMMBA, which promotes opportunities for minorities in the industry–organized a special session at NAMMBA Connect called “FOR HER.”  

Thompson noted incorporating an mPower event made sense at NAMMBA Connect, to which Davies concurred. “mPower grew from a need by women expressing a need to hear from other women about topics that can help them overcome challenges in their career,” she said. “Women at various stages in their career have different ideas and challenges that they would like to share with each other and solutions that have worked. So we host events at MBA conferences and bring mPower to other events such as [NAMMBA].”
