MBANow: MBA Economist Marina Walsh on Mortgage Industry Performance
The Mortgage Bankers Association released a new MBANow video featuring MBA Vice President of Industry Analysis, who discusses the latest MBA quarterly Performance Report and previews the upcoming MBA Mergers & Acquisition Workshop.

Walsh said the MBA third quarter Performance Report showed a continuation of a trend in which net production profitability fell for the fourth consecutive quarter.
“2017 was a bit of a tougher year than 2016,” Walsh said. “Mergers and acquisition activity in 2017 was not that strong, but moving into the new year we can expect, given tightening margins, that all owners of companies or any leadership in the mortgage industry will start being a little more introspective, looking at acquiring, capital raising and potentially selling.”
