MBA Whole Loan Trading Workshop Nov. 9 in Chicago: Call for Speakers
The Mortgage Bankers Association will host a one-day workshop on November 9 in Chicago that focuses on the active market for whole loans.
Aggregators, community banks and other portfolio investors are active buyers of whole loan mortgages on a flow or bulk basis. The workshop includes a focus on performing, non-performing, scratch and dent and “niche” products including co-ops, non-warrantable condos, etc.
The Whole Loan Trading Workshop will feature expert speakers who are involved in the buying and selling of whole loans.
Panel topics will include:
— Opportunities in the traditional correspondent market
— Discussion of the scratch-and-dent market
— NPLs and RPLs
— Examples of successful whole loan transactions between independent mortgage bankers and depositories.
— Comparing agency vs. alternative executions
— Identifying and developing successful counterparties for bulk and flow transactions.
