Five-Year Commitment from Arch Capital Group Provides Support to Opens Doors for California Expansion
The Mortgage Bankers Association Opens Doors Foundation announced it is expanding into California in the coming months, thanks to a generous ongoing contribution from Arch Capital Group (U.S.) Inc., a parent company of Arch Mortgage Insurance Co.
MBA Opens Doors is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to families with a critically ill or injured child by making their mortgage or rent payment. The foundation has recently established a relationship with two hospitals in California, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. MBA Opens Doors works directly with children’s hospitals to identify families in need.
“We cannot thank Arch Capital enough for its generous contribution and long-term commitment,” said Debra Still, CMB, Opens Doors Foundation Chair and CEO of Pulte Mortgage, Englewood, Colo. “The Opens Doors Foundation celebrates its fourth anniversary in October. We’ve established a strong partnership with our industry and built excellent relationships with hospital administrators, social workers and pediatricians who connect us with families in need of our help. We are now ready to grow into an organization that will serve families coast-to-coast. Thus far we’ve helped over 450 families, and with leadership from companies such as Arch Capital and others who are pledging ongoing commitments, we will be positioned to serve hundreds more.”
“The Opens Doors Foundation is a great opportunity for all of us, for corporate entities like Arch Capital and Arch MI, as well as individuals, to give back to our community and help those who are in need,” said Andrew Rippert, CEO of Global Mortgage at Arch Capital Group Ltd. “For my part, I feel a profound sense of civic and social responsibility and, more importantly, a deeply rooted commitment based on personal experience.”
Previously, Arch Capital Group made the largest single donation in Foundation history, earning the company recognition as an Opens Doors Foundation Guardian.
Arch MI is headquartered in Walnut Creek, Calif.
Opens Doors passes 100 percent of the donations it receives to families in need of assistance. Potential recipients of the grants are identified through the Foundation’s ongoing relationship with children’s hospitals in Washington D.C., Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Houston and now California.
Opens Doors is a 501(c)(3) organization and all contributions are tax deductible. For more information about the Foundation or to make a donation, please go to www.mbaopensdoors.org.
