CFPB Releases Final Rule on Small Business Loan Reporting

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau last Thursday issued a final rule that would require some lenders to collect and report information about small business credit applications they receive, including geographic/demographic data, lending decisions and the price of credit.

CFPB Provides Guidance on HMDA Loan Reporting Threshold

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said yesterday it does not intend to “initiate enforcement actions or cite Home Mortgage Disclosure Act violations for failures to report closed-end mortgage data collected in 2022, 2021, and 2020” for covered institutions that originated at least 25 closed-end loans, but less than 100 closed-end loans in each of the previous two calendar years.

CFPB: Rental Assistance Available as Eviction Moratorium Expiration Approaches

As the July 31 federal eviction moratorium expiration approaches, the Biden Administration, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Mortgage Bankers Association and industry groups are working together to inform apartment owners and renters about the rental assistance programs available to them.

CDC Extends National Eviction Moratorium to June 30

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced this week an extension to the eviction moratorium further preventing the eviction of tenants who are unable to make rental payments. The moratorium that was scheduled to expire on March 31 is now extended through June 30.
