Commercial/Multifamily Capital Markets and Securitization provides an introduction to how multifamily real estate transactions are financed and traded within the capital markets. The session explains the distinctions between the various market types, introduces the key participants in securitized transactions, and explores fundamental fixed-income concepts such as interest rate risk, market fluctuations, and yield curves.

Participants will gain an understanding of the securitization process across major platforms, including the Government-Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae for HUD/FHA-insured loans, and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) programs. The webinar also reviews the structure of a typical CMBS transaction, including tranches, payment waterfalls, and the role of credit ratings.

The session concludes with a comparison of the multifamily lending platforms, highlighting their similarities, differences, and the key considerations for investors and lenders operating in today’s capital markets.
