JLL Capital Markets Adds Senior Director Reina Abboud

JLL Capital Markets hired Reina Abboud as a Senior Director with the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. She will focus on debt advisory in the Richmond and Virginia Tidewater markets.

Abboud joins JLL with 10 years of experience in real estate finance. She served as a Financial Analyst with Phillips Realty Capital. During her career, she has been involved in originating, structuring and executing more than $1.5B in transactions in all asset types, with a strong focus on market rate and affordable multi-housing business.

Croft Young to Join CBRE as Chief Investment Officer

CBRE Group, Dallas, said Croft Young, a senior investment banker, will join the company as Chief Investment Officer.

When Young joins CBRE in July, the company’s global Corporate Development and Strategy teams will report to him. CBRE has enhanced its market position over the last several years through a combination of organic growth and mergers and acquisitions. With $4.8 billion of liquidity at year-end 2022, the company is positioned to make further strategic gains in M&A under Young.

Young will join CBRE from Morgan Stanley, where he is a Managing Director in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group. Over the past 14 years, he has been integrally involved in $175 billion of strategic and capital transactions, including M&A such as the sale of Industrial Properties Trust to Prologis and the sale of Fairmont Raffles Hotels International to Accor SA. His clients include public and private real estate investors, operators, service providers and investment managers.

Young served in the United States Marine Corps (active duty and reserves) for 13 years. He completed two combat tours in Fallujah, Iraq, between 2004 and 2006, and rose to Major. He will join CBRE’s global Executive Committee and report directly to company President and CEO Bob Sulentic.

Merchants Bank of Indiana Hires John Douglas as Assistant Vice President

Merchants Bank of Indiana, Carmel, Ind., hired John Douglas as Assistant Vice President in the bank’s Correspondent and Warehouse Lending divisions.

Prior to joining Merchants Bank, Douglas served as President and CEO of eWise Home Lending, a company he founded. eWise Home Lending grew into a fully operational mortgage platform with a full suite of products, licensed in 10 states. 

In his new role, Douglas will work closely with Merchants Bank’s the Correspondent Operations and Warehouse Sales teams to generate new clients and cultivate relationships with existing clients.

In addition to his time with eWise Home Lending, Douglas held managerial positions at various national mortgage correspondent lenders including IMPAC Mortgage Corp, Arc Home Loans, Homeward Residential Capital and more. Douglas is an active member of the New Jersey Mortgage Broker/Banker Association and has participated in several MBA committees.
