CBRE Tapped as Partner for Howard’s Research Center for Health Disparities
Howard University, Washington, D.C., and its private development partners have selected CBRE, Dallas, as the exclusive leasing partner for the school’s National Research Center for Health Disparities, which aims to develop solutions to diseases that affect marginalized communities worldwide.
The first phase of the NRCHD received city zoning approval in the spring. It will span 179,000 square feet of industry-leading laboratory and office space–designed to empower incubators, established biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, nonprofits and policymakers committed to addressing health disparities. Future phases will offer expansion opportunities.
The private development team includes Quadrangle and Capstone Development.
The CBRE Mid-Atlantic Life Sciences practice includes Executive Vice President Tommy Cleaver, Executive Vice President Frank Graybeal, Senior Vice President Kevin Reap and Senior Vice President Dan Grimes.
The Altman Cos. Launches Altman Living
The Altman Cos., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., launched Altman Living, a new division focused on creating affordable and workforce housing. Industry veteran David Schultz is the new President of Altman Living.
The division will aim to work with state, local and federal housing programs to produce workforce, affordable and mixed-income housing options. It will draw on the company’s expertise in developing high-quality, luxury housing.
Prior to joining the Altman Cos. in this new role, Schultz worked with Community Housing Partners as Vice President of Development. He was also the founder of Triad Housing Partners.
