NewPoint Hires Charlie Crowe as Director of Originations

NewPoint Real Estate Capital LLC, Plano, Texas, hired Charlie Crowe as Director of Originations.

Crowe will be based in NewPoint’s Irvine, Calif., office and will focus on providing affordable housing owners and developers with the full range of NewPoint’s proprietary, Agency and HUD/FHA financing solutions. 

Prior to joining NewPoint, Crowe was Director of Finance at nonprofit affordable housing developer Burbank Housing, where he led the firm’s overall capital strategy, oversaw enterprise-level capital raising and managed project-level debt and equity initiatives for a 3,200-unit portfolio. Before that, he spent six years with Freddie Mac Multifamily, most recently on the Targeted Affordable Housing Structured Production Team, working to originate, structure and securitize unique products like Q-Deals, M-Deals and SMART Deals. Crowe also played an integral role in developing Freddie Mac’s Single-Family Rental Pilot program and structured, underwrote and executed both the first SFR Pilot loan and the first SFR loan supporting Housing for the Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled.

Transwestern Appoints Heather Nevin Regional COO
Transwestern Real Estate Services promoted Heather Nevin to Regional Chief Operating Officer for the Mid-Atlantic region.

In this role, Nevin collaborates with senior leadership to create and drive the region’s strategic vision initiatives, meet organizational objectives, and manage regional operations and business lines.

Nevin previously served as Executive Vice President of Asset Services, overseeing and leading the service line for the Mid-Atlantic region. She was also instrumental in facilitating the acquisitions of MGA and WLS Realty. Before joining Transwestern in 2017, Nevin was Gensler’s regional leader for technology, a management consultant at McKinsey and a tax attorney at Covington & Burling.
