Tonya Barnes Joins NewPoint as Managing Director, Head of Closing
NewPoint Real Estate Capital announced Tonya Barnes joined the firm as Managing Director, Head of Closing. Based in Irvine, Calif., Barnes will manage and streamline all closing and transaction management activities.
Barnes brings more than three decades of diversified real estate banking experience, having handled closings for a variety of property types, including multifamily, affordable housing, seniors housing, manufactured housing and student housing. Prior to joining NewPoint, she served as Executive Vice President overseeing the property management division for multifamily and affordable housing investor Avanath Capital Management–returning to the firm after previously serving as Senior Vice President.
Barnes also served as Vice President and Closing Manager with KeyBank Real Estate Capital, where she led a team responsible for closing between $4 billion and $6 billion of Agency loans on an annual basis.
Adam Dembowitz Joins JLL’s Valuation Advisory Group
JLL’s Valuation Advisory group hired Adam Dembowitz as a Managing Director in its Denver office. He will focus on driving growth and expanding the group’s West Coast platform in Colorado and California.
Dembowitz joins JLL with nearly 20 years of real estate experience spanning valuation advisory, consulting, sales and leasing, construction administration, development and property management. His experience also reaches across all property types, vacant land and special-purpose projects and includes a wide variety of clients, including property owners, law firms, municipalities, developers and financial institutions.
Eric Baum Joins Greystone Monticello as Head of Multifamily Bridge Sales Desk
Greystone Monticello said Eric T. Baum joined the firm as Head of the Multifamily Bridge Sales Desk, working with the firms’ originators, including sizing, quoting and issuing bridge loan applications.
Formed in 2021, the Greystone Monticello joint venture provides bridge financing options in the multifamily and seniors housing industries.
Baum has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate lending, management and credit analysis. Throughout the course of his career, he has originated, structured, underwritten and closed more than $23.2 billion of commercial real estate debt products on all property types across the United States. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at Lument, where he originated new bridge loan opportunities for multifamily assets, including nearly stabilized and transitional properties. He has served as a Managing Director at Exantas Real Estate Funding, focusing on loan underwriting, credit analysis and closings, and has also held senior positions with CW Financial Services, Ventras and Capmark Financial Group/GMAC Commercial Mortgage.
Baum will be based in Philadelphia.
Greystone Monticello is a joint venture formed in 2021 between Greystone and MONICELLOAM to provide comprehensive bridge financing solutions to healthcare and multifamily investors.
