Walker & Dunlop Hires Susan Mello as Group Head of Capital Markets
Walker & Dunlop, Bethesda, Md., hired Susan Mello as Group Head of Capital Markets.
Based in the company’s Englewood Cliffs, N.J., office, Mello will oversee the company’s capital markets platform, which structures debt and equity transactions through a wide range of capital sources.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Mello was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at PGIM Real Estate, where she oversaw a series of U.S. multi-product closed-end equity funds and had direct responsibility for capital raising, investment strategy, portfolio construction and investment selection. During her time at PGIM Real Estate, she held a number of different roles in transactions and portfolio and asset management and was directly involved in the structuring, negotiating and managing more than $5 billion of value-add investments. Prior to PGIM, she was a partner at McCarter & English LLP law firm, where she worked extensively on structuring real estate development investments and joint ventures.
Eliav Dan Joins Greystone’s Commercial Lending Group
Greystone, New York, said Eliav Dan joined the firm’s Commercial team as a Senior Managing Director based in Los Angeles.
In this role, Dan will focus on structured large-loan originations, commercial mortgage-backed securities, balance sheet lending and Greystone Agency and FHA programs.
Dan joined Greystone from Barclays, where he served as West Coast Head, leading both Los Angeles- and New York-based origination teams, and oversaw large-loan, CMBS, and balance sheet originations for the West Coast territory. At Barclays, he helped build out and expand the firm’s West Coast footprint over the past six years, most notably in loans ranging from $100 million to $650 million.
Prior to Barclays, Dan was Head of the Los Angeles office at Ladder Capital, a publicly traded mortgage real estate investment trust, and also served as Founder & Managing Principal of a boutique real estate advisory firm Verona Capital Markets.
Ben Ketel Joins The Mogharabi Group
Ben Ketel joined The Mogharabi Group, Costa Mesa, Calif. He will help service and expand the firm’s platform advisory services throughout California and key western U.S. markets.
Over the course of his 25-year career, Ketel has been involved in more than $2 billion in multifamily, hospitality and commercial real estate transactions. He joined TMG from commercial real estate investment firm Red Tail Acquisitions, a subsidiary of Fowler Property Acquisitions. As Managing Partner, he directed and managed the acquisition of thousands of multifamily units and millions of square feet of commercial real estate assets. Previously he was a Principal and Partner at FPA.
