Blomquist Joins Auction.com as Vice President of Market Economics 
Auction.com, Irvine, Calif., added Daren Blomquist as Vice President of Market Economics.
Blomquist most recently served as Vice President at Attom Data Solutions. In his new role, he will analyze and forecast macro and microeconomic data trends within the marketplace and greater industry.
Blomquist also served as executive editor of the Housing News Report, named best newsletter by the National Association of Real Estate Editors in 2015 and 2016.
HFF Hires Nieves as Director in New York
Holliday Fenoglio Fowler hired Mike Nieves as a director focused on M&A and corporate advisory services in the firm’s New York office.
Nieves will work with senior managing director Steve Hentschel, who heads HFF’s M&A and corporate advisory services provided by HFF’s registered broker-deal subsidiary, HFF Securities LP. He joins HFF from Citigroup’s Real Estate and Lodging Investment Banking Group, where he was a vice president and worked on public real estate investment trust mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and equity and debt capital markets transactions.
Prior to Citigroup, Nieves worked at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP as a corporate lawyer, executing mergers and acquisitions as well as bank finance transactions.
Newmark Knight Frank Adds Industrial Team In San Fernando Valley
Newmark Knight Frank added a team of industrial market specialists led by John DeGrinis as Executive Managing Director, Patrick DuRoss as Senior Managing Director, Jeff Abraham as Senior Managing Director and Kate Borden as Brokerage Services Specialist.
The new team will be based in Woodland Hills, Calif., as part of NKF’s expansion into the San Fernando Valley.
DeGrinis comes to NKF from Colliers where he served as Senior Executive Vice President. With more than 33 years in commercial real estate, DeGrinis specializes in industrial leasing, sales, land development and tenant representation in North Los Angeles from the San Fernando Valley to Ventura County. Over the past 10 years, DeGrinis and team have completed transactions totaling more than 25 million square feet and $1.4 billion in consideration.
DuRoss comes to NKF from Colliers where he was a Senior Vice President. With 14 years of experience, DuRoss started his career with Colliers working alongside DeGrinis.
Abraham also came from Colliers where he began his career in 2008 as part of DeGrinis’ team.
