mPact Fall of Fundraising Campaign
This fall, MBA’s mPact network held three fundraising events across the country, raising more than $18,000 to benefit the MBA Opens Doors Foundation.
The MBA Opens Doors Foundation helps families with critically ill or injured children stay in their homes by helping them meet their mortgage and rent obligations while their child receives medical treatment.
The Commercial mPact Advisory Committee led the effort. HFF Director Nicole Brickhouse, MidCap Financial Associate Zach Britton, M&T Realty Capital Managing Director Matt Hodson, NKF Assistant Vice President Greg Primiano and Prudential Director Stephen Shaw arranged the first event on August 20 in Washington, D.C. The meeting included networking and a Washington Nationals Baseball game.
PGIM Real Estate Finance donated tickets to the baseball game and attendees donated to the Opens Doors Foundation as an entrance fee. The venue for the networking portion, Mission Navy Yard, also donated some proceeds to ODF.
The second meeting was held October 24 in Dallas at the British Beverage Co. and included a networking event and a raffle to support the ODF. Local vendors donated raffle prizes. The 30 attendees were asked to donate to ODF as an entrance fee. PGIM Associate Managers Mukesh Patel and Kristi Dowdle planned the event and secured a corporate donation from PGIM to the foundation.
The third event took place October 30 in Chicago at the Lagunitas Brewery and Tap Room. Berkadia Real Estate Analyst Maggie Burke, Allstate Investment Analyst Scott Rosburg and Pacific Life Associate Director Jeff Staffeldt made the arrangements.
The Chicago fundraiser included networking and raffle ticket sales to support ODF. Berkadia donated the raffle prizes and Pacific Life Insurance supplied food for 80 attendees. The Lagunitas Brewery donated 90 percent of the cost of a beverage to ODF. The Chicago team also secured a dollar-for-dollar match to their fundraising efforts.
A fourth and final event will be held in early December in New York. UBS Associate Neal Casey, Berkadia Senior Analyst Charlie Rigoglioso and CIBC Originations Associate Michelle Waterman are currently planning this event.
