Newmark Hires Five in San Francisco
Newmark, San Francisco, hired five commercial mortgage banking professionals in its San Francisco production office.
The five member team of Andrew Mekjavich, Ryan Gray, Jeff Matlock, Ben Johnson and Murphy Osborne has structured more than $2 billion in commercial mortgage finance during their careers.
Senior executives joining Newmark as Vice Presidents in Loan Production include:
–Andrew Mekjavich, who specializes in structuring and arranging debt and equity financings for commercial and multifamily properties nationwide. Prior to joining Newmark, he was a Senior Vice President with Barry Slatt Mortgage from 2013 to 2018.
–Ryan Gray: Prior to joining Newmark, Gray was an Executive Director and Loan Originator with Barry Slatt Mortgage from 2007 to 2018. Over the last decade, he helped arrange more than $1 billion in commercial real estate loans ranging from traditional debt to highly structured financing.
–Jeff Matlock has been in the commercial mortgage business since 2011 and most recently served as a commercial mortgage banker with Barry Slatt Mortgage. He specializes in providing long-term debt placement for all property types including apartments, retail, office, industrial, medical buildings, hotels, self-storage and special-use properties.
Support professionals joining Newmark as Production Associate and Business Development Associate include:
–Benjamin Johnson. Johnson joined Newmark as a Production Associate in San Francisco. He began his commercial real estate career with CBRE Inc., where he was first a research analyst, and then a commercial real estate appraiser.
–Murphy Osborne: Osborne joined Newmark as Vice President and Business Development Manager. He has more than 12 years of commercial real estate and finance experience.
Greystone Real Estate Advisors Expands in Columbus, Ohio
Greystone Real Estate Advisors, New York, announced J. Micah Deskins joined as a Director in Columbus, Ohio. He will work with multifamily sales advisors Mark Rohr and Eric Taylor to expand the firm’s Ohio and Midwest presence.
With more than five years of full-service multifamily sales advisory experience, Deskins joined Greystone from CBRE, where he participated in the sale, marketing, financing and consulting of more than 5,000 units totaling over $400 million.
Brunello Joins Morrison Street’s New York Office
Morrison Street Capital, Portland, Ore., added Ross Brunello to its New York office. He will be responsible for sourcing new investments as well as asset management for the Morrison Street Funds.
Prior to joining Morrison Street, Brunello served as an Assistant Vice President in the Real Estate Capital Markets group at Wells Fargo. With stints in New York and Chicago, he has an extensive background in sourcing, structuring, underwriting and closing commercial mortgage-backed securities and balance sheet loans across all major property types nationwide. He began his career in New York with JPMorgan Chase working as a commercial real estate analyst responsible for originating portfolio loans secured primarily by multifamily real estate assets in the eastern United States.
