CBRE Promotes Parsons to Lead National Data Center Practice
CBRE, Los Angeles, promoted John Parsons to lead the firm’s national data center practice for Valuation & Advisory Services.
As National Data Center practice leader, Parsons will coordinate valuation and advisory specialists across the U.S. He will be based in Seattle.
Parsons joined CBRE in 2011. He has more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience in both the U.S. and Asia-Pacific regions. He is also the market leader for the appraisal and consulting assignments of office real estate in the Pacific Northwest.
Investment in the U.S. data center sector reached record levels in first-half 2017 with $18.2 billion invested, already more than double that for all of 2016. At this pace, investment in the data center sector could surpass the total for the three previous years combined.
Cohen Financial Investor Services Group Hires Records to Lead Special Servicing
Cohen Financial, a division of SunTrust Bank, hired Robert Records as Senior Asset Manager to lead the firm’s Investor Services Group Special Servicing practice. He will work from Cohen Financial’s Dallas office.
Records will expand ISG’s reach to financial institutions, private equity firms and investment banks across the country. He will also further develop ISG’s commercial mortgage-backed securities surveillance program to enable ISG’s clients to preemptively address potential defaults in order to minimize losses and enhance recoveries.
Records joins Cohen Financial from KeyBank Real Estate Capital where he was Vice President and Senior Asset Manager-Team Leader in charge of supervising a group of special servicing asset managers involved in the workout of large balance loans held in CMBS-securitized trusts. He also participated in the workout of assets including FDIC loans, SBA loans and commitments and bankruptcy lease rejection and administrative claims.
In prior positions, Records worked with Berkadia/GMAC Commercial Mortgage and Nomura Asset Capital/Bank of New York where he led special servicing asset management teams. In his management roles, Records managed teams that focused on CMBS assets and participated in all aspects of the asset management process including the foundational development of Master Servicing loan operations policies, rating agency presentations, and pooling & servicing agreement negotiations. He was also responsible for managing large client relationships at these firms.
JLL Expands Property Tax Practice with Four New Hires
JLL hired four new team members to join its national property tax practice. Domingos Santos Jr. joined as a Senior Vice President in JLL’s Arizona office and Fahim Sayed joined as a Senior Vice President in Chicago. Dan Leonard and Debbie Moore were hired as Vice Presidents in the company’s Dallas office.
Santos Jr. leads JLL’s property tax services in Arizona, specializing in assisting clients pursuing value-add real estate strategies and those challenging or defending property tax valuations. Sayed, who leads the Chicago services, has experience in virtually every sector, including retail, office and hospitality. He can also assist with tax planning, transaction consulting and transfer tax mitigation.
