HFF Hires Gilson as Director in Pacific Northwest
Holliday Fenoglio Fowler hired Scott Gilson as a director. He will focus on debt and equity placement for Pacific Northwest multifamily properties.
Gilson joined HFF from NorthMarq Capital, where he started his career in 2011 as an intern and worked his way up to vice president/producer. During this time, he was involved in more than $250 million of debt financing across all property types.
DeCesaris to Retire as W. P. Carey CEO at Year End; Fox Named Successor
Net lease real estate investment trust W. P. Carey announced Mark DeCesaris will retire as CEO and board of directors member effective December 31.
Jason Fox, currently W. P. Carey president, will succeed DeCesaris as CEO and a member of the board. John Park, Director of Strategy and Capital Markets, will succeed Fox as President.
Fox was appointed President of W. P. Carey Inc. in 2015, prior to which he served as Head of Global Investments from 2015 to 2016 and Co-Head from 2011 to 2015. He currently manages the firm’s investment and asset management activity on behalf of W. P. Carey and its CPA series of non-traded REITs and has been responsible for more than $10 billion of acquisitions since joining in 2002.
Before joining W. P. Carey, Fox worked at the Spectrem Group, a consulting and M&A advisory firm in San Francisco.
Barry Slatt Mortgage Promotes Lam and Bruni; Hires Boroumand
Barry Slatt Mortgage promoted two commercial mortgage bankers, Kelvin Lam and David Bruni, to Vice Presidents.
Since joining Barry Slatt Mortgage in 2012, Lam helped originate more than 300 commercial real estate loans totaling $850 milion. Bruni joined the firm in 2016. He formerly worked as a loan officer for a major national bank.
Barry Slatt Mortgage also hired Behzad Boroumand as Vice President in its Burlingame, Calif., office. He formerly seved as a Director at Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp.
