CRI Society Awards 13 CRI Designations at MBA CREF
SAN DIEGO–The Chartered Realty Investor Society awarded CRI® designations to 13 real estate professionals last week following their completion of one or both of the CRI® exams, which are administered by the Mortgage Bankers Association.
“The Chartered Realty Investor designation brings together all aspects of the commercial real estate finance, investment and advisory industries,” MBA Associate Director of Commercial/Multifamily Education Content Gail Griffith-Roch said here at the MBA Commercial Real Estate Finance/Multifamily Housing Convention & Expo 2017.
Daniel Phelan CRI®, CCMS, CMB, President of Pacific Southwest Realty and current President of the Chartered Realty Investor Society, said the CRI® designation certifies a charter holder’s broad understanding of major components of real estate investing, “including property issues and due diligence, analysis and valuation, underwriting, legal issues and capital market investments, commercial mortgage-backed securities and asset management.”
Phelan acknowledged the following individuals who earned the CRI® Associate designation at CREF:

Phelan also presented Ian King with County Life and John Maher with Sun Life the CRI® pin as they were were named CRI® Charter Holders.
“If you’re able to pass both exam levels, you are in the elite of commercial real estate, extremely well-rounded and knowledgeable on every aspect of CRE,” Griffith-Roch said. “It’s quite an achievement to earn this designation, and a great tool to be able to recognize those individuals.”
