Berry Joins Barry Slatt Mortgage Leadership Team
Barry Slatt Mortgage hired Jason Berry as its new Chief Operating Officer. The firm promoted Michael Kaplan to President at the same time.
Berry had been a strategic advisor to the firm since October 2015.
Berry has more than 27 years of experience in commercial real estate. Prior to full-time engagement with Barry Slatt Mortgage, he served as both interim Chief Operating Officer and regional leader of the California brokerage offices for CBC Advisors, the largest franchisee in the Coldwell Banker Commercial system. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer from 2000 to 2012 for BT Commercial, which helped launch Cassidy Turley in 2010. After the merger with Cassidy Turley in 2012, he became the Executive Managing Director of the Northern California region prior to leaving the firm in 2015 with the sale to Cushman & Wakefield.
Daniels Joins Marcus & Millichap’s IPA Division as National Director, IPA Multifamily
Institutional Property Advisors, a division of Marcus & Millichap specializing in serving institutional and major private real estate investors, hired Jeffery Daniels as senior vice president and national director of IPA Multifamily.
Prior to joining IPA, Daniels led AIG Global Real Estate’s U.S. multifamily investments team. At AIG, he was responsible for the formulation and execution of the company’s value-add investment strategy and managed its U.S. real estate holdings. During his 13-year tenure with AIG, he managed over 38,000 multifamily units in more than 20 states valued at over $7 billion, formed over 25 joint ventures with national and regional real estate operators and grew AIG’s multifamily portfolio by 30 percent. Previously, Daniels served as assistant vice president at Zurich Structured Finance, where he managed a $1.5 billion multifamily portfolio financed with Section 42 low-income housing tax credits.
TH Real Estate Hires Jameson, Dugoff
TH Real Estate appointed two people to its debt team. Managing Director Mike Jameson will be based in San Francisco and originate commercial real estate debt transactions in the western U.S. and Rick Dugoff will be a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for real estate debt.
Prior to joining TH Real Estate, Jameson was a Managing Director with Prudential Mortgage Capital Co. He spent 26 years at the firm, acting in various capacities including managing the firm’s third-party commercial mortgage asset management business. Prior to that he originated loans across several western states.
Dugoff has more than 27 years of commercial real estate investment experience. Prior to joining TH Real Estate, he was Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Debt at JP Morgan Asset Management, responsible for strategy, portfolio management, originations and asset management for the firm’s flagship open-ended real estate debt fund as well as a series of separate accounts and other pooled vehicles. Earlier in his career he worked at Related Cos. and Chemical Bank where his responsibilities included acquisitions, development and structured finance, as well as lending and workouts.
