Barber Joins CBRE as Chief Tax Officer; Kraus Promoted
CBRE Group, Los Angeles, announced that Madeleine Barber will join the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Tax Officer.
Barber will manage and direct all aspects of CBRE’s global tax function including tax planning, provision, policy and compliance for the corporation worldwide. She will join CBRE from Tyco International where she was Senior Vice President and Chief Tax Officer.
Barber began her career in public accounting, serving primarily Fortune 100 clients, with the international tax practices at Arthur Andersen and KPMG. She was a partner at both firms. Since joining Tyco in 2004, she held leadership positions during a period in which the company underwent significant changes and played a key role in executing the spin-off of Tyco’s healthcare and electronics businesses in 2007 and its North American residential security and valves & controls businesses in 2012.
In San Francisco, Chris Kraus was promoted to CBRE Hotels’ consulting practice leader for northern California, the Pacific Northwest and the Rocky Mountain regions.
With the recent passing of Thomas Callahan, Kraus has assumed the day-to-day role of overseeing and running the business’ hospitality consulting efforts within those markets.
Kraus spent the past 20 years working directly with Callahan, first with PKF Consulting USA in San Francisco and more recently with CBRE Hotels. He has completed thousands of hotel consulting projects in both the private and public sectors. His assignments have covered all asset types including hotels, resorts, golf courses, ski resorts, conference centers, condominium hotels, and the shared-ownership industry and his clients include the industry’s leading lenders, owners, developers, chains and management companies.
Milwaukee’s Siegel-Gallagher Team Moves to Transwestern
Transwestern added the brokerage team from the former Siegel-Gallagher Inc., a 20-year-old commercial real estate firm based in Milwaukee.
John Dulmes, Daniel Walsh and Marianne Burish joined Transwestern as Executive Vice Presidents and Shaun Dempsey became a Vice President.
Focused primarily on tenant advisory, agency leasing and investment sales in the office sector, Dulmes, Walsh, Burish and Dempsey have executed more than $1 billion in real estate lease transactions on behalf of building owners.
Carmel Partners Appoints Tennican Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Marketing
Carmel Partners announced that Liz Tennican joined the firm as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Marketing, a new position based in Carmel’s San Francisco headquarters.
Most recently Tennican was Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations and Business Development at Watershed Asset Management. Previously, she was a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Institutional Sales at BlackRock’s iShares. Prior to that she headed the Institutional Consultant Resource Group at Barclays Global Investors.
