Wells Fargo, Eastdil Secured Lead MBA 2015 Commercial/Multifamily Origination Volume Rankings


The Mortgage Bankers Association released its annual rankings of top commercial/multifamily mortgage originators for 2015.

Wells Fargo; Eastdil Secured; JPMorgan Chase & Co.; HFF LP; Meridian Capital Group LLC; Bank of America Merrill Lynch; CBRE Capital Markets Inc.; PNC Real Estate; Key Bank; and Capital One Financial Corp. led MBA rankings.

Ten different companies topped the 11 lists reporting total originations by investor groups:

–Wells Fargo led total origination volumes
–Eastil Secured, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. led originators for commercial mortgage-backed securities
–JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America Merrill Lynch and PNC Real Estate led originators for commercial bank loans
–MetLife, HFF and Prudential Mortgage Capital Co. led originators for life insurance companies
–Wells Fargo, Walker & Dunlop and Berkadia led originators for Fannie Mae
–Berkadia, CBRE Capital Markets Inc. and Walker & Dunlop led originators for Freddie Mac
–Berkadia, Red Mortgage Capital LLC, and Wells Fargo led originators for FHA/Ginnie Mae
–TIAA, Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE Capital Markets Inc. led originators for pension funds
–CBRE Capital Markets, HFF and Cushman & Wakefield led originators for credit companies
–Key Bank, Capital One Financial Corp. and Eastdil Secured led originators for real estate investment trusts, Mortgage REITS and Investment Funds
–JLL, Meridian Capital Group LLC and Mesa West Capital LLC led originators for specialty finance
–Wells Fargo, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and HFF originators for the “other investors” category

By dollar volume, top five originators for third parties in 2015 were Eastdil Secured; HFF; Meridian Capital Group LLC; CBRE Capital Markets; and Wells Fargo.

Top five lenders in 2015 were Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Key Bank and Capital One Financial Corp.
