Grandbridge hires Allen, Bankhead for Birmingham, Ala., Office
Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, Charlotte, N.C., added Matthew Allen and John Bankhead V to its Birmingham, Ala. loan origination team.
Allen, who will serve as an assistant vice president and senior transaction manager, brings more than 14 years of experience in commercial real estate finance to his new role.
As a vice president with Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, Bankhead is primarily responsible for originating debt and equity financing for public and private real estate owners through a variety of capital sources including insurance companies, investment banks, governmental agencies, commercial banks and credit institutions.
Bankhead brings more than 10 years of experience in the commercial real estate and finance industries to his new role.
NorthMarq Capital Appoints Riekstins Managing Director in Boston
NorthMarq Capital’s Boston regional office promoted Ed Riekstins to managing director.
In his new role, Riekstins will manage the Boston office’s production for insurance companies, agency lenders Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, commercial mortgage-backed securities lenders, equity investors and other financing sources represented by NorthMarq.Riekstins joined the Boston office in 2012 when NorthMarq acquired Q10 New England Realty Resources. At Q10 New England Realty Resources, he oversaw all commercial loan production and served as president and chief operating officer for the Boston/ New England office of Q10 Capital, LLC.
Early in his career, Riekstins was chosen for the inaugural class of the Mortgage Bankers Association Future Leaders program. He is past vice-chairman of MBA’s Statistics and Research Committee and served on the Technology Committee.
Walker & Dunlop Welcomes Robbins and Ewig
Walker & Dunlop, Bethesda, Md., announced that Jeff Robbins and Matt Ewig have joined its Capital Markets group.
Robbins and Ewig will each hold the title Senior Vice President and Managing Director and will be based out of the company’s Chicago and Milwaukee offices, respectively.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Robbins and Ewig served as managing directors at Berkadia. During their careers, they have originated a combined $3 billion of commercial real estate loans, including permanent, interim, construction, and preferred equity and mezzanine financings.
Hunt Investment Management Hires Duda to Lead New Investment Initiatives
Hunt Investment Management, New York, an SEC-registered investment advisor managing $1.4 billion of real estate assets throughout the United States, hired Tom Duda as an Executive Vice President.
Duda joined Hunt Investment Management from One William Street Capital Management, where he served as a Managing Director and was a member of the firm’s investment team. While at One William, he oversaw all of the firm’s acquisitions, portfolio construction, and risk management of investments spanning all areas of real estate and asset based lending. Specifically, Duda ran credit trading for One William’s residential mortgage portfolio, leading new investment initiatives to purchase single family rental debt transactions as well as credit risk transfer securities issued by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Prior to One William, Duda worked at Bear Stearns & Co. where he structured and traded real estate and asset backed securities.
