W&D Hires Jones and Other News
Walker & Dunlop, Bethesda, Md., hired Brian Jones to join its FHA Finance group.
He will focus on originating affordable multifamily, healthcare and seniors housing loans out of Walker & Dunlop’s new Cleveland office, scheduled to open on January 4, 2016.
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Jones served as a director at Love Funding, where he originated financing for affordable and market-rate projects and healthcare facilities utilizing HUD’s RAD program with nine percent and four percent Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. Previously, he served as the assistant vice president of development at Millennia Housing Development Ltd. where he was responsible for developing and preserving affordable housing.
Hunt Mortgage Group Hires Polen
Hunt Mortgage Group, New York, announced that Barry Polen joined the firm as managing director of capital markets. In this role, he will focus on expanding Hunt Mortgage Group’s capital markets activities and its commercial lending business nationwide.
Polen joined Hunt Mortgage Group from Guggenheim Securities in New York, where he served as managing director. In that role he led the commercial real estate debt trading desk and also worked with Guggenheim’s Commercial Real Estate Finance group on their securitization activities. He will operate out of the firm’s New York office.
Prior to Guggenheim, Polen was a managing director at Credit Suisse, where he was the head of CMBS Capital Markets, a role he had for almost nine years. Before that he was a Vice President with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he served as a CMBS Bond Structurer. Earlier in his career he held positions at Morgan Stanley and Ernst & Whinney.
Marcus & Millichap Names Capital Markets Executives
Marcus & Millichap added three capital markets professionals to the company’s financing division, Marcus & Millichap Capital Corp.
Richard Katzenstein joined MMCC with over 30 years of capital markets experience and will serve as national director. He will focus on growing MMCC’s team of loan originators, building additional lender relationships and expanding financing tools and capabilities.
Rick Lechtman brings over two decades of capital markets experience and will serve as regional director with a focus on growing MMCC’s presence in the Eastern and Midwestern U.S. His responsibilities include providing support, training and development for the MMCC team and collaborating with regional managers across the firm to recruit additional loan originators.
Eric Fixler, a capital markets veteran with 17 years of experience, has joined MMCC as senior director in Fort Lauderdale. A senior producer, Fixler brings a full range of debt, equity and advisory services production capability to MMCC and clients of MMI’s investment sales brokers.
