West Coast Senior Housing Origination Team Joins M&T Realty Capital Corp.
M&T Realty Capital Corp., Baltimore, appointed Sean Huntsman Executive Managing Director and Kathy Stewart Managing Director in the Los Angeles area. They will originate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans for senior housing and multifamily properties nationwide, with a focus on the West Coast.

Huntsman has been in the income property real estate industry since 1985 and has closed more than $5 billion in loans. Stewart has been involved in commercial real estate finance since 1996. Prior to joining M&T, she provided production support and managed loan screening for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA debt products at PNC and Barings. Over her career, she has assisted in originating more than $3 billion in loans.

Arbor Appoints van der Reis to Executive Vice President, Structured Asset Management
Arbor Realty Trust, Uniondale, N.Y., appointed Danny van der Reis Executive Vice President, Structured Asset Management.

van der Reis will be responsible for managing the structured asset management department and loan restructurings for all of Arbor’s balance sheet loans and strategically developing and expanding the company’s special servicing function. He has more than 20 years of commercial real estate finance experience. Prior to joining Arbor, he worked for a special servicer in the commercial mortgage-backed securities industry for more than two decades where he restructured complex CMBS loans and was responsible for the processing and resolution of all performing loan consent matters. He was also involved in underwriting thousands of loans included in CMBS securitizations as part of B-piece acquisitions and investments.

Akerman Broadens Real Estate Finance Practice with Partners Baker, McCranie
Law firm Akerman LLP added Beau Baker and Christopher McCranie. Both joined Akerman from Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Jacksonville, Fla. and bring significant experience in secondary market portfolio and single asset loan sales and acquisitions, joint venture and preferred equity investments, and commercial real estate capital markets.
