Grandbridge Hires Alexander in Alabama
Grandbridge Real Estate Capital hired Richard Alexander Jr. in its Mobile, Ala., commercial mortgage loan origination team as vice president.
Based in the company’s 41 West I-65 Service Road North office, Alexander has nearly a decade of experience in commercial real estate finance. He will originate both commercial and multifamily loans.
Prior to joining Grandbridge, Alexander served as a commercial real estate banker with Hancock Whitney Bank in Mobile, Ala., where he negotiated and originated multifamily, retail, industrial, hospitality, office and senior housing financings.
JLL appoints IBM leader Sanjay Rishi as Americas CEO, Corporate Solutions
JLL, Chicago, appointed former IBM executive Sanjay Rishi CEO for its Americas Corporate Solutions business.
Rishi joined JLL from IBM, where he established and led the company’s global Cloud Consulting Services organization. In that role, he ran a team that helped IBM clients use technologies like cloud, big data, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and analytics to drive business innovation. Prior to joining IBM, Rishi was CIO and Group Vice President of Information Technology and Strategic Planning for Johnson Controls Automotive and also was a partner at PwC.
Rishi will be based in Chicago.
Colony Capital Appoints Barrack CEO
Colony Capital, Los Angeles, said its board of directors and its CEO, Richard Saltzman, reached a mutual agreement in which Saltzman–who has served as CEO since the firm public four years ago–has resigned as CEO, President and as a director of the company. Saltzman will remain in a non-executive capacity as Chairman of both Colony Credit Real Estate Inc. and NorthStar Realty Europe.
Thomas Barrack Jr., the company’s Executive Chairman, has taken on the additional role of company CEO, reassuming the position he held when he founded Colony as a private company in 1991, until 2014, when Colony merged into Colony Financial Inc.
The company plans to implement a set of additional organizational changes to further align with its increasing focus on its investment management business. Darren Tangen, the company’s current Chief Financial Officer, has been named President, effective immediately, and will resign as Chief Financial Officer January 1. Effective January 1, Mark Hedstrom, the company’s current Chief Operating Officer, will reassume the additional responsibilities of Chief Financial Officer, a position he held prior to Colony’s 2014 merger into Colony Financial Inc.
Mirante Joins Avison Young’s Board of Directors
Avison Young, Toronto, appointed Arthur Mirante to its Board of Directors. Mirante is a Principal of Avison Young and the firm’s Tri-State President. His appointment expands Avison Young’s Board to eight.
Mirante joined Avison Young in 2012 as a Principal and Tri-State President in conjunction with the company opening an office in New York City. He served as CEO of Cushman & Wakefield for 20 years. During his tenure, Cushman & Wakefield’s revenues increased to more than $1.2 billion from $80 million and the firm expanded from 60 U.S.-based offices to 173 offices, including 100 outside the country.
