Sarah Bernhisel returned to Barry Slatt Mortgage as Vice President in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Bernhisel spent the last 3.5 years as Vice President on JLL’s Capital Markets team, where she primarily focused on debt origination and structured finance for institutional borrowers on all major property types. Prior to joining JLL she served as Senior Analyst in Barry Slatt Mortgage’s Los Angeles office.
During her seven-plus years in commercial real estate, Bernhisel has executed more than $2 billion in loans on all property types utilizing a range of funding sources.
Grandbridge Promotes Ownby to Tampa Production Manager
Grandbridge Real Estate Capital named Senior Vice President TJ Ownby production manager of the company’s Tampa, Fla., office.
In addition to his management duties, Ownby will continue to originate debt and equity financing for public and private real estate owners through a variety of capital sources which include insurance companies, investment banks, governmental agencies, commercial banks and credit institutions. He originates, structures, places and closes real estate product types including, retail, office, industrial, hospitality, multifamily and medical office. Financing facilities he has closed include permanent loans (both forward and immediate commitments), equity raisings, interim or bridge facilities and construction loans.
Ownby has nearly 40 years of correspondent mortgage banking experience. He started his career in the late 1970s with DeFranceau Realty Group. Upon leaving DRG, he joined Trust Company Mortgage, one of the largest correspondent mortgage banking firms in the Florida market at that time. Prior to joining Grandbridge he served as Managing Principal of Tavernier Capital Partners and as Senior Vice President/Managing Director of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage.
In 1991, Ownby formed The Carey Kramer Co. North Florida with three other partners. They successfully operated for the next 10 years until the firm was purchased by GMACCM in 2001. As a principal of Carey Kramer and Tavernier Capital Partners, TJ and his partners were responsible for building a $2-plus billion life company servicing portfolio.
Gilyard Joins CBRE Group Board
CBRE Group, Los Angeles, announced that Reginald Gilyard joined the company’s Board of Directors.
Gilyard has nearly 30 years of leadership in corporate, academic and military organizations. He is a Senior Advisor with the Boston Consulting Group and has developed and implemented strategies for Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions and foundations.
Most recently, Gilyard served as Dean of the Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University from 2012 to 2017. Prior to Chapman, he was a Partner and Managing Director with BCG. He served nine years in the U.S. Air Force and three years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, rising to major in the Reserves.
Gilyard also serves on the Board of Directors of First American Financial Corp. and Realty Income Corp.
