MBA Accepting Entries for Diversity & Inclusion Residential Leadership Awards; Deadline Today
The Mortgage Bankers Association is now accepting entries for its first-ever Diversity and Inclusion Residential Leadership Awards.
The MBA Diversity and Inclusion Residential Leadership Awards aim to:
–Recognize MBA member companies that have developed innovative ways to foster diversity and inclusion in the industry
–Highlight leaders in the area of diversity and inclusion in the industry
–Inspire business strategies that reach out to diverse populations
–Raise awareness about the importance of being a diverse and inclusive industry
–Share industry best practices and successes to inspire new strategies that reach out to diverse populations.
“From enacting sound public policy to promoting positive workplace practices, MBA strives to set the right tone for the industry,” said MBA Chairman-Elect Rodrigo Lopez, CMB. “As the leading voice for real estate finance, we want to take this opportunity to celebrate our member companies for their work and dedication in supporting a key industry initiative–diversity and inclusion, as it pertains to hiring, lending and outreach.”
The awards recognize members in two categories:
—Market Outreach Strategies. This award recognizes company initiatives that are specifically developed and designed to increase outreach, marketing, and/or products to attract customers from the industry’s fastest growing market segments.
—Organizational Diversity and Inclusion. This award recognizes company initiatives that are specifically developed and designed to increase diversity and inclusion within the leadership and employee base of member companies, thereby leading to a mortgage banking industry that may better reflect and better understand its customers.
Applications are open to all MBA residential members regardless of business model or membership category.

MBA will accept entries from MBA commercial/multifamily member companies at a later date, with those recipients being celebrated at the MBA CREF/Multifamily Housing Convention & Expo 2017 in February.
