The Mortgage Bankers Association has begun enrollment for its 2018 Servicing Operations Study and Forum (covering 2017 data).

The annual SOSF offers highly detailed and comprehensive operational and financial servicing metrics to industry participants. Now in its 20th year of production, this benchmarking series sets the standard for servicing managers and mortgage banking executives to measure their servicing departments.

Cost per Loan and Productivity Breakouts. Detailed cost and productivity metrics for seventeen functional areas of servicing, from call center to collections to servicing systems.

Servicing Revenues. Includes servicing and subservicing fees, late fees, ancillary fees, gain/loss on MSR-related items, and escrow earnings.

–Operational Practices and Cost Drivers by Function. Includes operational benchmarks and cost drivers related to borrower billings and payment methods, use of SPOC, customer complaint management, website usage, mobile applications and call center volume, among others.

Servicing Portfolio Product Mixes and Performance.

Servicing Systems and Software.

Survey participants receive 500+ pages of customized output reports comparing their firm to their peers, as well as a customized 60-slide summary presentation that shows their firm’s data compared to peer averages in graphical format–ready to use for strategic decision-making. The presentation also includes historical trends and analyses over time.   An integral component of the study is a two-day servicing operations forum, scheduled for May 10-11 in Washington, D.C. The forum is open to all mortgage servicers participating in the study and allows for the exchange of ideas and a better understanding of the data.
