Brownley Rejoins Hunt Mortgage Group as Director
Hunt Mortgage Group, New York, announced that Cary Brownley rejoined the firm as Director.
Brownley will lead FHA multifamily loan closings from the firm’s Tysons Corner, Va. office. She returns to Hunt Mortgage Group from Berkadia, where she served as FHA Closing Manager.
While at Hunt Mortgage Group, Brownley worked on all aspects of FHA closings and took a lead role in servicing and asset management. She also worked with the Hunt development affiliate to procure a new construction loan.
Earlier in her career, Brownley was with Wells Fargo where she was responsible for all aspects of FHA loan closings related to the issuance of Ginnie Mae mortgage-backed securities. Prior to Wells Fargo, she was with Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage (currently Berkley Point) and its predecessors for 23 years where she was an FHA Specialist, working in closing, GNMA issuances, construction loan management, servicing, asset management and special asset management that included workouts, foreclosures, and resale of multifamily apartment complexes.
Principal Names Strable-Soethout Next CFO
Principal Financial Group, Des Moines, Iowa, announced that Deanna Strable-Soethout will assume the role of chief financial officer effective February 14, 2017 in preparation for the retirement of current chief financial officer and executive vice president Terry Lillis in April 2017.
In addition, Strable-Soethout was promoted to Principal’s executive vice president effective immediately. She will retain her current position as president of United States Insurance Solutions until her successor is named.
In 2015, Strable was named president of the United States Insurance Solutions responsible for all businesses within the Individual Life and Specialty Benefits Divisions of U.S. Insurance Solutions with overall accountability for individual life, nonqualified deferred compensation, individual disability and group benefits.
Strable joined the company in 1990 as an actuarial assistant. She was appointed actuarial associate in 1992, senior actuarial associate in 1994 and named officer in 1995. In 1999, Strable was promoted to second vice president, and then vice president in 2002. She was named senior vice president in 2005 before assuming her current position in 2015.
Greystone adds Northern California Sales Advisory Team
Greystone, New York, expanded its multifamily advisory platform in California’s Bay Area. It hired Todd Vitzthum, formerly an Executive Director with Cushman & Wakefield, and Simon Hermann, previously a C&W Director, as Senior Managing Director and Managing Director, respectively.
Collectively, the two hires, along with their team, bring to Greystone several hundred million dollars in transactional experience, along with a market-leading presence in the multifamily development sales advisory space.
