Joe Culver Honored With Marianne Collins Award

Joe Culver, executive director of the New York Mortgage Bankers Association, was honored with the Marianne Collins State and Local Leader of the Year Award at the Mortgage Bankers Association’s State and Local Workshop April 13.

Culver has guided the New York MBA in promoting advocacy and securing real regulatory victories.

For example, last year Culver and the New York MBA worked to complete a 10-year effort to achieve passage of the New York Land Title Act–groundbreaking legislation that allows manufactured homes to be converted from chattel to real property.

And last month, during the New York MBA Advocacy Day, the group sent five lobbying teams to meet the with dozens of assemblymembers and senators in Albany, helping educate policymakers on issues important to the industry. Those meetings also included conversations with the governor’s staff.
