Mortgage Applications Increase in Latest MBA Weekly Survey

Mortgage applications increased 3.2% from one week earlier, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending March 6, 2026.

ICE Mortgage Monitor: Q4 Lending Climbs to 3.5-Year High; Servicer Retention Strengthens

Mortgage originations reached an estimated 1.44 million in the fourth quarter — the largest quarterly tally since Q3 2022 — as a surge in refinance activity drove lending to its highest level in three and a half years, according to the March ICE Mortgage Monitor report.

Existing-Home Sales Increase

Existing-home sales increased by 1.7% month-over-month in February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.09 million, the National Association of Realtors reported Tuesday.

MBA Joins Letter Urging Changes to BTR Provision in ROAD to Housing Act

The Mortgage Bankers Association joined with a broad coalition of organizations in sending a letter to Senate leadership urging changes to the build-to-rent provision in the housing package--the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act--currently under consideration.
