Americans Predict Mortgage Rates will Top 8% Next Year

The latest annual consumer expectation survey on housing released Tuesday by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York showed respondents surveyed in February are expecting the average mortgage rate to reach 8.4% within 12 months and 8.8% in the next three years.
