Mortgage Rates Inch Up While Mortgage Credit Availability Inches Down

Freddie Mac reported the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.12% as of Feb. 9, up from last week when it averaged 6.09%; a year ago at this time, it averaged 3.69%. The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.25%, up from last week when it averaged 5.14%; a year ago at this time, it averaged 2.93%.
