The torrid pace of servicing sales slowed a bit in the fourth quarter as pending transfers were settled and the coissuance market slumped. A whopping $1.116 trillion of agency mortgage servicing rights changed hands in 2022, a 20.9% gain from the previous year, according to an exclusive Inside Mortgage Trends analysis of agency mortgage-backed securities data.
